How did you decide to start Lerin?
R: I decided to start Lerin when I was running my own Pilates studio. I would have cute workout sets I would wear to work, but when it came time to train, I found the cute outfits were not functional. So before I worked out, I would change into a different outfit that was more practical for my high-intensity workouts.
What has been the best experience for you so far in beginning your brand?
R: So far, my best experience in creating this brand has been getting women's feedback on what they want in athletic apparel garments. I have taken all of this feedback into account while creating the brand.
What has been the most challenging in this process?
R: The most challenging part of this process was getting the clothing to a standard that I loved. Lerin has been two years in the making, and I would not release a product unless it was absolutely perfect.
Where do you see Lerin in 5 years?
R: In five years, I see Lerin as not only a brand but a community. My whole goal is not to just create plug-ins; it's to create a community of women that prioritize health and wellness first. We plan to host many fitness events where women can come together and collaborate, whether it be a business collaboration, making a new friend, or meeting somebody that can motivate them in their fitness endeavors.
What is your favorite thing about Miami?
R: My favorite thing about Miami is how many people here prioritize wellness. The majority of activities that I do in Miami are outside. We are lucky enough to live in a place where we get nice weather all year round. I love being able to go out on a walk with my son, husband, and Bernedoodle Claude.
What is your favorite piece?
R: My favorite item is The Olivia top. I love to wear long sleeves just because I feel more covered, especially because I like to show my torso. Not to mention The Olivia Top makes everybody's bust look phenomenal, and I love the amount of support it gives.
Where did the unique name Lerin come from?
R: It's a take on my German heritage. The German word for female athlete is "sportlerin" and that's what we represent - female athletes. So I cut the word in half and that's how Lerin was born.
